ECC Honor Society Keeps Highway Litter-Free

Phi Theta Kappa students

Students in the Edgecombe Community College Phi Theta Kappa honor society and their family members participated in Adopt-a-Highway on Saturday, April 16. Twenty-one volunteers spent about three hours collecting 25 bags of trash and recyclables along a three-mile stretch of Wilson Street in front of the Tarboro campus. The college’s Alpha Omega Nu chapter of Phi Theta Kappa has sponsored spring and fall Adopt-a-Highway cleanups for fifteen years, just one of multiple service projects held by the chapter.
