Officers Complete Crisis Intervention Training at ECC

Sixteen law enforcement officers completed Crisis Intervention Team training held April 1-5 at Edgecombe Community College. Agencies represented included the Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office, Vidant Edgecombe Hospital Police Department, Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, and Wilson Police Department. EastPointe in Rocky Mount facilitated the class.

Honor Society Holds Highway Cleanup

Despite soggy weather on Saturday morning, thirty-eight Edgecombe Community College students and staff donned rain gear to work in the spring Adopt-A-Highway cleanup sponsored by the College’s chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society. Edgecombe Community College staff member Viola Harris participated in Read Across America on Friday, March 1. She read to pre-kindergartners at Coker Wimberly Elementary School in Battleboro (shown above) and to 1st graders at Princeville Elementary School in Tarboro (shown below). Harris, who lives in Tarboro, serves on the Edgecombe County Board of Commissioners.
