Board of Trustees Announces Appointments

Two members of the Edgecombe Community College Board of Trustees were sworn in at the board’s meeting on August 2. Ricky Thompson (left) was appointed to the board, and Gloria Wiggins-Hicks (right) was reappointed. Kim Harrell (center), Edgecombe County deputy clerk of court, delivered the oath of office.

A new member of the Edgecombe Community College Board of Trustees was officially sworn in and a second member was reappointed at the board’s recent quarterly meeting.

The Edgecombe County Board of Education appointed Ricky Thompson of Tarboro to the board. Thompson is a financial advisor with Edward Jones.

Gloria Wiggins-Hicks, a trustee since 1997, was reappointed to the board by the Edgecombe County Board of Commissioners. She serves as vice chair of the board and also sits on the executive board of the North Carolina Association of Community College Trustees.

Wiggins-Hicks is a retired community relations manager of Cummins Rocky Mount Engine Plant.

The ECC Board of Trustees has 12 members, each serving a four-year term. The Office of the Governor, the Edgecombe County Board of Education, and the Edgecombe County Board of Commissioners each appoint four members.
