What is the High Altitude Balloon Team?

The High Altitude Balloon (HAB) Team focuses on developing and implementing weather balloon technologies that collect atmospheric data for research. Team members are Edgecombe Community College students who have interests in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programs.  The HAB team, named critECCly stable, competes in state and national competitions.

How can students join?

ECC students who are interested in joining the HAB Team should complete an application. HAB Team advisors will review applications and contact students upon acceptance to the team for the current academic year.

What can students expect?

• Develop and improve personal skills
• Compete in NC Space Grant Community College High Altitude Balloon Competition and SkillsUSA Competition
• Learn teamwork and have fun working on a professional project
