Customized Training Courses

 

Achieve-Global
Achieve-Global is the world leader in helping companies translate business strategies into business results by developing the skills and performance of companies’ workforces. ECC is certified in Customer Service and Leadership.

Apprenticeship
ECC has the capability to set up and instruct curricula that are eligible for apprenticeship approval through the Department of Labor, such as electrical, welding, mobile crane operations, pipefitting, and others.

AutoCad
ECC stays on the cutting edge of computerized drafting. Choose from basic AutoCad courses, intermediate and advanced AutoCad, as well as AutoCad upgrade courses. Emphasis is on utilizing the software and peripherals. (Prerequisite: drafting knowledge)

Biotech
Biotechnology is a new curriculum developed by the North Carolina Community College System in conjunction with the North Carolina Biotech Center. This curriculum prepares learners for entry-level positions in pharmaceutical, bio-engineering, food processing, and other related fields.

Computer Applications
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access, Front Page, QuickBooks, Publisher, and Windows; introduction to computers, Internet basic, and more. Emphasis is on practical use of computer programs, with hands-on based instruction. Most classes offer a beginning, intermediate, and advanced level.

Computer-Aided Drafting
CAD courses consist of AutoCad 2000 and/or TekSoft, primarily for mechanical drawing and machining.

Critical Thinking Skills Training and Train the Trainer
ECC is certified to deliver and train trainers in strategies for teaching critical thinking – part of the Thinking to Learn® series, developed by Educational Testing Service ©.

DaCum
DaCum is a standard process for developing a curriculum by performing task analysis and content development of any job. ECC has several certified instructors who can perform DaCum studies for local industries.

DDI
Development Dimensions International ® is the recognized leader in managerial, supervisory, and workforce relations training. ECC is authorized to deliver 78 modules that are categorized as Interaction Management Tactics ®, Interaction Management Strategies ®, Targeted Management ®, Service Plus ®, Maximizing Performance ®, and Techniques for a High-Performance Workforce ®. ECC also has direct access for multi-day training sessions and master trainers.

Electrical License Renewal
ECC is approved by the state board of electrical contractors as a continuing education facility for Electrical Contractor License renewal courses. Depending on the availability of instructors, the college will offer the NEC and electrical courses necessary to satisfy the continuing education requirements set by the board.

Forklift
Since the forklift law changed in the late 1990s, forklift training must now be site- and truck-specific. Forklift training has three required components: six classroom topics, truck- and site-specific training. The college has certified instructors through Gregory Poole using Crown ® forklift training materials.

Hydraulics
Business and Industry utilizes the same curriculum as the Industrial Technology Department in teaching industrial hydraulics and pneumatics. This and most other courses can be modified to meet the needs of individual companies. Hydraulics consists of lab work, computer-based training, and traditional teaching methods to cover everything from basic physical laws to pressure and temperature compensated control valves, proportional valves, servo valves, electrohydraulic devices, and more.

ISO 9000:2000
ECC has the resources to offer ISO 9000: 2000 auditing and implementation courses.

Kepner-Tregoe
Kepner-Tregoe is a nationally recognized leader in problem solving. Currently ECC offers Analytical Troubleshooting for industrial employees. The college has two certified Kepner-Tregoe instructors.

Machining (locally and with PT CAM out of Greensboro)
A level 2 curriculum based on the North Carolina Manufacturing Certification program.

N.C. Manufacturing Certification
The N.C. Community College System developed this curriculum to prepare learners for entry-level positions in manufacturing. The course is made up of several modules that collectively teach learners important concepts and skills used in a variety of manufacturing positions.

NCCER Craft Training
Through a partnership with the Carolinas Association of General Contractors, ECC is authorized to teach the NCCER Craft Training curricula. Craft Training includes but is not limited to: welding, electrical, carpentry, pipefitting, heavy equipment operations, mobile crane operations, boilermaking, millwright, roofing, and metal frame construction.

NCCER Train the Trainer
ECC offers a train-the-trainer course for the Craft Training curricula through the Carolinas AGC. This four-day class prepares subject matter experts to transfer knowledge and skills to learners in the classroom and lab.

Plastics (through the N.C. Plastics Consortium)
Plastics training covers most topics found in the plastics industry, such as injection, extrusion, thermoform, etc.

Programmable Logic Controllers
ECC offers instruction on most aspects of PLCs – writing ladder, communications, components, etc. The college offers Allen-Bradley SLC model 5 and model 5/20 family instruction.

Quality
ECC courses include but are not limited to: Total Quality Transformation ®, Statistical Process Control and software, ISO training, and others. Training consists of classroom, hands-on, and/or consultative methods. ECC also has an instructor certified as a Master Trainer.

Refrigeration
ECC offers a wide variety of courses in refrigeration, including basic systems, refrigerant recovery, and troubleshooting. Successful completers of these courses are prepared to work in residential or commercial maintenance where knowledge of refrigerant of cooling systems is required.

Safety
ECC has the resources to offer most industrial-related OSHA, DOT, and EPA training that is required by law, such as DOT 181 and 126-F, OSHA 10 and 40-hour HazWoper 40 hour and refresher, general safety, HazCom, Lockout/Tagout, PPE, and so on.

Saville-Holdsworth Profiling
ECC has certified profilers in the Saville-Holdsworth technology systems and assessment instruments for selection and development of people. SHLs assessment, selection, and management development tools fall into the following categories: ability tests, behavioral style questionnaires, and 360 degree feedback for professional development.

Statistical Process Control
Statistical Process Control teaches types of data, FMEA’s data collection, document plans, control charts, chart interpretation, and capability analysis.

The Great Game of Business
The Great Game of Business is an open-book management process developed through the Spring Remanufacturing Company in Springfield, Missouri. It is a process that teaches employees how to manage a business through the financials of the company.

Train the Trainer
Train the Trainer prepares experienced members of the workforce (subject matter experts) to become trainers at their facilities. Participants learn skills and techniques necessary for the transfer of knowledge. ECC has a master trainer on staff.

Vital-Learning
The Vital-Learning series is a well-recognized set of supervisory and front-line management training. There are 14 courses to choose from, including Dealing with Conflicts, Delegating Effectively, and Improving Employee Work Habits.

Welding with AWS certification
The National Center for Construction Education and Research teamed with the American Welding Society to develop a welding curriculum that prepares welders to take the AWS welding certification exam. ECC is capable of teaching the NCCER-AWS welding curriculum and testing for AWS certification. The course consists of modules that make up entry level, intermediate, and advanced welder curriculum.

WorkKeys
ECC is authorized to perform WorkKeys job profiles. These profiles identify and set levels in workplace foundational skills. Employees can be assessed against these levels. We offer competent instruction for the WorkKeys classes for employees who have deficiencies between the required performance levels and their tested levels.

YO-YO
Yo-Yo is a process developed by The Great Game of Business Inc. to teach the basic financial literacy in the business world.

ZodiakECC
ZodiakECC has certified instructors to teach the Game of Business and finance training through Zodiak, which was developed by the nation’s leader of experiential learning.
