The following information is made available to students for their knowledge and benefit. Students may ask any Student Services staff member for assistance and more information.

A student’s complete official record will be shown to him/her on request. Students will know who may receive information from their records.

Potential students will know the requirements for admission to a program before acceptance to the program. Applicants will receive their acceptance or rejection notices within two weeks after the date of the admissions interview.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in SGA activities. Activity programs for students will meet the cultural, social, and involvement needs expressed by students. Before the student enters any program he/she will know the chances of his/her being able to successfully complete the program during the admissions interview. Before registration, new students will know the kinds of associate, diploma, certificate, and extension programs that are available at the College during the admissions interview. People in the community will know what courses are available to them in the community at least two weeks prior to registration. Good public relations with alumni and surrounding community will be maintained.

Each student should be able to satisfactorily complete registration within one hour. Transcript requests will be honored promptly. Students may obtain copies of their own transcripts in a form useful for advisement, program planning, etc. All students will have a copy of the Edgecombe Community College catalog which they can use for guidance and information. Students will be aware of the Family Rights and Privacy Act when enrolled in the ACA 111 course. The financial need of those applying will be accurately determined.

Before choosing a career program, students who request job information will know the following characteristics of jobs in their area of career choice:

Students wishing to officially withdraw from Edgecombe Community College will know the procedure. Grade reports will be available to students within two weeks after exams have ended. Students will abide by a student code of conduct while on campus or while taking part in College-sponsored activities. Persons requesting any student personnel services will be served courteously and promptly. A veterans’ affairs office will be maintained to ensure that veterans will be well-informed of educational benefits available to them and to assist veterans with any forms or problems. Students will be informed of preparatory and tutorial programs that are available to better prepare a student before entering a curriculum.
