Nursing Program Director Presents on New Curriculum Model

Kathy Williford, director of nursing programs at Edgecombe Community College, recently copresented a program on “Concept Based Nursing Curriculum” at Alfred State College in New York.

Williford and Amy Feaster, director of nursing education programs at Johnston Community College, presented the program on April 14. Alfred State College offers an associate degree nursing and an RN-BSN track.

They were asked to present because of their role in the curriculum improvement project for associate degree nursing in North Carolina. This marked the second New York appearance by Williford and Feaster. In 2010, they presented on concept-based education at the St. Joseph College of Nursing in Syracuse.
