College Divisions Receive Input from Advisory Boards

More than 200 business, industry, and health care leaders and Edgecombe Community College faculty gathered on the Tarboro campus recently for Advisory Board Night.
The annual event was held April 12 on the Tarboro campus.
ECC advisory boards consist of professional leaders, community members, and faculty who are experts in the subject area of their board. More than 70 businesses and organizations are represented on the boards.
Sheila Hoskins, director of institutional effectiveness at ECC, shared with the group key points in developing a strategic plan. “Advisory board members participated by evaluating our programs and suggesting improvements. They had some great ideas,” Hoskins says. “Their input is invaluable.”
Advisory boards are in place for 25 program areas of the college, such as criminal justice, cosmetology, and nursing. Six to 10 members sit on each board.
