Summary Description: Teach English conversational, listening, reading, and writing skills to adults for whom English is the second language. Responsible for instructing all levels of classes from beginning to advanced; following course outline; maintaining student files, attendance, and record keeping. Must endeavor to retain students and attend job training and orientation classes.
Qualifications: Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Education from a regionally accredited institution plus at least 2 years experience teaching ESL classes to adults.
Preferred: Master’s degree in Education or English as A Second Language, ESL certification, and all minimum qualifications; experience teaching adults in a classroom setting; familiarity with LEIS paperwork, CASAS assessment, and Datatel; plus proficient computer skills.
