Current tuition is $42.00 per credit hour with a maximum tuition charge of $672.00 per semester (16 credit hours). Out-of-state tuition is $3,732.80 per semester or $233.30 per credit hour up to 16 credit hours. All curriculum students are required to pay an activity fee of $.75 per credit hour per semester (up to 16 credit hours) for participation in student activities. All curriculum students are required to pay a technology fee of $1.00 per credit hour per semester (up to 12 credit hours). All curriculum students are required to pay a parking and security fee of $1.00 per credit hour per semester (up to 12 credit hours). Senior Citizens Tuition Waiver Senior citizens who are residents of North Carolina and 65 years of age or older are eligible to enroll in both curriculum and continuing education classes without paying tuition/registration fees with the exception of self-supporting classes. Additional charges, however, may be required. Textbook & Supplies The cost of textbooks and supplies varies according to the program of study. Textbooks and supplies for full-time degree or diploma students will cost approximately $300 – $600 per semester. Insurance
Establishment of Residency To qualify for the resident tuition rate, North Carolina law (G.S. 116-143.1) requires that a legal resident must have maintained his/her domicile in North Carolina for at least the 12 months immediately prior to his/her classification as a resident for tuition purposes. One must also have established evidence of citizenship with intentions to reside in the state permanently. Examples of these actions are being employed, paying taxes, having a current North Carolina driver’s license, voting in the state, and belonging to churches, clubs, or other organizations.
