If You Are A High School Student

ECC has several special programs designed to smooth the transition from high school into college. A special dual enrollment policy for high school students allows them to take curriculum courses at ECC for college credit with the possibility of earning high school credit as well.

Students interested in this opportunity must be currently enrolled in high school for at least half of the school day and be making appropriate progress toward graduation as determined by the school principal.

High school students 16 years and older, upon the recommendation of the superintendent and the principal, may seek admission to ECC during the summer term. Students enrolled at ECC through this program are not charged for tuition or fees. However, they are responsible for paying for their books and supplies.

Another option is taking college classes as a group. This program, called the Huskins Bill, allows ECC instructors to offer students classes not available through the high school -- either on the high school campus or at ECC. Students receive college credit and may also receive high school credit.

For more information about the growing number of possibilities, call Student Services at (252) 823-5166 or (252) 446-0436.
