Early College Instructor Is Teacher of the Year

 
Consuelo Schwartz is the 2006 Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year for Edgecombe County Public Schools. She teaches Spanish in the Edgecombe Early College High School on the campus of Edgecombe Community College. She was nominated by her students and parents. Schwartz will now compete at the state level. The Early College received $1,000 and will use this money for a field trip in the fall for students and teachers. Schwartz received a check for $100, a t-shirt, and a basket of goodies.
