Nursing Students Learn During Mock Disaster Drill

 
EastCare Flight Nurse Amy G. Evens discusses the challenges of critical care on a medical helicopter during a mock disaster drill for senior nursing students at Edgecombe Community College. The drill, held April 28, is among the final requirements for the students. First-year nursing students and practical nursing students posed as patients during the drill. EastCare is based at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville. Local emergency rescue personnel who participated in the disaster drill were Edgecombe County Rescue Squad, Pinetops Rescue Squad, West Edgecombe Rescue Squad, Stony Creek Rescue Squad, Tarboro Fire Department, Tarboro Police Department, Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office, and Heritage Hospital.
