ECC Instructor Elected Chair of State Respiratory Board

 
Ralph Webb, RRT, RCP, chair of respiratory therapy at Edgecombe Community College, has been elected chair of the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB). The board was established in 2001 as part of the Respiratory Care Practice Act passed by the N.C. General Assembly in 2001. Rep. Joe Tolson of Pinetops sponsored the bill, which mandates licensure of respiratory therapists. Webb was first appointed to the 10-member board in 2002. He has been reappointed twice, in 2004 and 2006. He was named vice chair in 2004 and chair on January 10, 2008.
