Local Students Receive Scholarships to Attend ECC

Eighteen Edgecombe and Nash high school students recently received scholarships to attend Edgecombe Community College in the Fall 2008 semester.

Each student received an Edgecombe Community College Academic Scholarship. The award amounts range from $700 to $1,000. Students were nominated by a teacher or counselor, and they had to be in good academic standing.

• North Edgecombe High School: Jessica Loeblein, Ida Jane Mobley, and Shanté Moses
  
• Tarboro High School: Savannah Strickland, Jasmine Dancy, and Javier Carlos
  
• SouthWest Edgecombe High School: Sarah Elizabeth Webb, Brittany Golde Brenner, and Stephanie Lynne Ellis
  
• Edgecombe Early College High School: Brittany Maecey Carter and LaKeisha Shanna Pettaway
  
• Nash Central High School: Chelsea West and Toney Hedgepeth
  
• Northern Nash High School: Latesha Michelle Daniels
  
• Rocky Mount High School: Jasmine Hunter and Rasheeda Murphy
  
• Southern Nash High School: Bailey Glover and Anna-Kay Greene
