Scrabble Tournament a Success

Eighteen teams of Edgecombe Community College students and staff/faculty participated in the college’s first Scrabble Tournament on January 29. The tournament was held in the Rocky Mount student lounge.

The championship round consisted of the following teams:
• Phil Bailey/Nairobi Nairobi (tie - highest word score)
• Samantha Spencer/Eunitta Whitaker (tie - highest word score)
• Wes Hill/Jack Stewart
• Terence Whitehead/Jordan Minnis

Each championship team member received a $15 Books-a-Million gift card. The highest word scoring team (tie) members received a $10 Books-a-Million gift card. Samantha Spencer and Eunitta Whitaker each received a $10 Books-a-Million gift card for highest score (200) in first round.
