Library Sponsors First Writer's Workshop
Edgecombe Community College’s first Writer’s Workshop
on April 5 drew about 33 students who studied journaling, poetry, and
creative writing. The Writer’s Workshop was sponsored by the
library and funded through a mini-grant from the ECC Foundation. Students
participated in three workshops. English instructor Renee Martinez
led the workshop on journaling; English/humanities instructor Carole
Mehle taught poetry; and Samantha Spencer, a developmental English
instructor, taught creative writing. Shown in the photo is Mehle leading
the poetry workshop.
