IMAIL Policies

Email Management Policies
- Any Imail account that has not been accessed for
over one year may be deleted without user notification.
- All Imail messages in all user accounts that are over 180
days old will be deleted periodically without user notification.
- The maximum size of an IMAIL mailbox is 10 MB (megabytes).
You are responsible for cleaning out old emails if your mailbox
becomes full.Email Abuse Policies
Students who use their email accounts in violation of the IMAIL Acceptable Use policy listed below will have their email account
revoked without warning.
IMAIL Acceptable Use PolicyIMAIL is for the use of ECC students to facilitate communication
with ECC faculty and staff and other ECC students in connection
with the students program of study.
The following activities are violation of the IMAIL Acceptable Use Policy:
- Using the IMAIL system to harrass, threaten, intimidate, or stalk others.
- Using the IMAIL system to commit fraud.
- Using the IMAIL system to transmit and store pornographic images.
- Using IMAIL in a way that violates any local, state or national law or
regulation.IMAIL Security Policy
It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that others are not able to
log into the student's IMAIL account by changing the password from the
default of 12345 to a password known only to the student.
If a student suspects his/her IMAIL account has been accessed by another
person, he or she could contact IMAIL Tech Support immediately.The college has no responsibility to insure that IMAIL accounts are backed
up to tape. The IMAIL administrator will periodically backup the EMAIL
server as part of software maintenance but the college has no
responsibility to restore email files from backup tapes in the event the
student's email account becomes corrupted or emails are missing.
