BlackBoard Announcements

                            Student Email Addresses

                          If you are a student taking any courses using BlackBoard, then your email
                                address in your BlackBoard account MUST be your ECC MyEdge student email address. 

                                This is automatically done if you are registered in a true Online Class or a Hybrid Course. If you are in a traditional class that uses Blackboard. Make sure you give your Instructor
                                your MyEdge E-mail Address.

                                What is my MyEdge E-mail address - It is your username@myedge.cc To find out your username, click HERE!
                                Your MyEdge login and password are the same for MyEdge and Blackboard.


                                During the first 2 weeks of the semester, be sure to check your MyEdge account at least daily
                                so that you do not miss important messages from the instructor.

                                All students who are registered for classes at ECC receive a MyEdge E-Mail account within 24 hours of registeringfor classes.

                               
                                BlackBoard Course Availability

                         In general, courses on the BlackBoard server do not become available until the FIRST day of classes.
                           
                         10% Date Requirement

                                If you are using BlackBoard to take a 100% online course, then you MUST log into BlackBoard
                                and complete at least one activity assigned by the instructor before the course's 10% date.
                                Otherwise, you are subject to be dropped from the course for failing to "enter" the class by the 10% date.

                                
                                Do Not Bookmark the BB Login Page in your Web Browser

                         Do not "bookmark" in your web browser the second BB login page that allows you to enter your user name
                               and password as a future shortcut for logging into BlackBoard.  BB requires you always start from
                               the "gateway page" which is the first BB screen you see.  If you try to go directly to the BB login
                               page using the bookmark, the first login attempt will always fail and you will have to try again.  The
                               second try will work but as you can see, the bookmark approach does not save any time.
