Administrative Computer Systems/Datatel Administrator

Available: July 1, 2009

Description: Responsible for administration and security of computer resources or administrative computer systems/Datatel and for implementation of Computer Security and Allocation/Prioritization policies and procedures.  Also responsible for performing duties relative to the day-to-day operations of the administrative computer system under the supervision of the Director of Computer Services and protecting the security of the system and the integrity of the data.  Manage and maintain physical and technical environments of administrative computer systems for compliance with state IT security standards and audits; local guidelines; and state and federal laws.

Qualifications: Minimum – AAS degree in Information Technology/Systems; at least 3 years work experience in Unix, Datatel Colleague,  DMI, WebAdvisor, and IBM Unidata Database; and proven ability to work effectively with people.

Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Systems or equivalent plus at least 3 years work experience in Unix, Datatel Colleague, DMI, WebAdvisor, and IBM Unidata Database; and proven ability to work effectively with people.

Summary: Supervise and coordinate recruiting, retention, career planning, tutoring, student support, disability services, and student activities.  Provide counseling services that support students in their personal, academic, social, and career needs.  This position reports to the Vice President of Student Services.

Description: Provides counseling services that support students and community citizens in their personal, academic, social, and career needs; conducts placement testing and interprets results; maintains academic records for students in Allied Health programs; coordinates activities related to admissions and assists with College recruiting.  Develops and coordinates programs which contribute to the overall development of student achievement. Description: Responsible for teaching students in both ADN and PN programs. Flexibility needed to accommodate clinical needs. This is a 9-month position.

Program Coordinator/Instructor – Developmental Studies

Description:  A 12-month position. Coordinate instruction of Academic Skills classes and developmental classes in Biology, Computer Science, English, Mathematics, and Reading.  This position reports to the Vice-President of Curriculum and the Dean of Arts and Sciences.

Part-time Instructors – Industrial Technology
Business & Industry Services, one of the Workforce Development Programs in ECC’s Continuing Education division, is seeking instructors for multi-craft industrial skills training.

Available: August 1, 2009

Description: Provide on-line, classroom, and lab instruction for working adults in industrial and facility maintenance roles. Areas of instruction needed include electrical & electronics maintenance; mechanical and machine maintenance; and HVAC and facility maintenance.
Note: May need to teach classes during evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications: Minimum – B.S. degree in science or engineering field related to the area of instruction - electrical & electronics maintenance; mechanical & machine maintenance; or HVAC & facility maintenance; plus 5 years of work experience in the area of instruction.

Preferred – All of the minimum qualifications plus experience teaching adults and community college teaching experience.

Part-time Nursing Instructors

Seeking instructors for both Licensed Practical and Associate Degree Nursing Programs

Description: Provide classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction to Nursing students under the supervision of the Department Chair and according to the requirements of the NEWH Nursing Consortium; able to work a flexible schedule.

LPN instructors must be also be able to meet the demands of starting a new program.

Qualifications for Both Programs: Minimum – BSN; 2+ years of patient care experience; and a current, unrestricted NC Nursing License.

Preferred – All of the above plus five+ years medical/surgical experience in addition to supervisory experience. Also, either obstetrical or pediatric experience is preferred for ADN Instructors.
