High School Academies
Begin your future in high school through ECC’s
High School Academies. How can you know what
you want to do with your life when you’re
still in high school? Your best bet on finding
the perfect career begins with understanding
what interests you and what you enjoy.
Edgecombe Community College and Edgecombe
County Public Schools have partnered to offer
four programs called “academies” to
help you better understand your choices.
Computer Studies Academy
This Academy is available at SouthWest Edgecombe
and Tarboro high schools. The requirements
in Levels 1 and 2 are the same for either
of these tracks.

Technologies Academy
This Academy is available at North Edgecombe
and SouthWest Edgecombe high schools in a two-part
college course, ELC 112 A (DC/AC Electricity
Part I) and ELC 112 B (DC/AC Electricity Part
II), will be taught by a SouthWest instructor
at SouthWest. The course will be offered to
students from North Edgecombe on the ECC campus.

This is a yearlong
college curriculum and is taught by a college

Sciences Academy
This Academy is available at North Edgecombe,
SouthWest, and Tarboro high schools.

This is a yearlong college curriculum
and is taught by a college instructor.
All three (3) of the following courses
are taught during one semester during
the junior year.
