
Adult High School Online Program
The Adult High School Online program is offered via the Internet through a software program called NovaNet. The NovaNet courses are approved by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
Requirements for graduation are as follows:
English 4 credits
Mathematics 4 credits
Science 3 credits
Social Studies 4 credits
Health/Physical Ed. 1 credit
Electives 6 credits
Students must complete 50 hours of study for each course, complete all assigned work, and score 80 or better on all tests, including the final exam.
To enroll in the Adult High School Online program, students must attend an orientation and register on campus before starting an online course. Students need to present a sealed official transcript from their previous high school which must include a physical education credit. If students do not have the necessary computer skills to be successful in the courses, they will be required to spend time in the computer lab before trying to work from home.
Students who are under 18 years of age must be admitted through an admission process then attend orientation on campus. A packet of information to begin the admission process can be picked up from the learning labs.
Anyone can receive more information by calling or going by the Adult Enrichment Center on either the Tarboro campus or the Rocky Mount campus. The Centers are open 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Friday.
