ADMISSIONS POLICY

Dear Prospective Applicant:

Thank you for your interest in our Health Information Technology Program at Edgecombe Community College. It is a two-year Associate of Applied Science degree program with courses available on-line, traditional face-to-face classroom, or via the NC Information Highway (teleconference). Students receive clinical training at one of our affiliated clinical sites.

In order to be considered for admission into the program, you will need to complete an admissions application, request all appropriate transcripts, and demonstrate readiness to take ENG 111, BIO 168, CIS 111 and MAT 140 (either by a placement test or prior course work). Testing is scheduled for the second Tuesday of every month at 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. For testing on our campus, you need to report to Student Services located on the first floor of the Rocky Mount Center. For students living at distance sites, you may submit placement test scores or college transcripts to me. After successful completion of this process, you will then be scheduled for an interview with a counselor and the department chairperson. You must also submit a completed physical exam form and three letters of reference.
