CT/MRI - Admission Policy and Procedures
Each step must be completed before proceeding to the next step. Admission into health science programs is competitive and is based on a points-based ranking system. The number of students accepted into health science programs is determined by space available and may therefore vary each term.
Step I Application Process (Must be completed by March 1 or November 1)
- Applicants must submit a CAT/MRI Applicant Information Form and an ECC Application to the Student Services Department by March 1 to be considered for fall admission. For spring admission, the forms must be submitted by November 1. Subsequent dates for acceptance of applications are established if space becomes available prior to fall admission.
- Applicants must submit an official high school transcript or equivalency.
- Applicants must submit an official transcript from an AMA approved radiography program.
- Applicants must submit evidence of American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration or evidence of ARRT eligibility.
Step II Conditional Acceptance
- Applicants with the highest total points in the following categories are considered for conditional acceptance:
- College degrees
- Radiography GPA
- Current health-related certifications, i.e., EMT or phlebotomy (Must submit proof by March 1)
- ARRT registration
- Full-time work experience in Radiography (Must submit letter from employer)
- Full-time work experience in CT or MRI (Must submit letter from employer)
- Confirmed sponsorship by a clinical affiliate (Must submit letter from sponsor)
- Letters of conditional acceptance with enclosed medical forms are mailed to selected students. The number of students selected for conditional acceptance depends on clinical space available. Applicants who are not selected on the first round are placed on an alternate list. Students will continue to be selected from the alternate list until the program is filled.
Step III Acceptance
- Students must submit a completed medical form. The physical exam section of the form must be dated within a time frame of six months prior to enrollment.
- Students must submit evidence of current (one-year) CPR certification for health care providers.
- Letters of acceptance are mailed to students.
