The Lost Trailers
www.thelosttrailers.com
Tarboro native Ryder Lee and long time friend Stokes Nielson met in a church band as teenagers, and they’ve been making records together ever since. Their high school friendship begat a country band of five called The Lost Trailers, who have blazed their way through hundreds of honkytonks, joints, roadhouses, night clubs and concert halls, building a firewall of fiercely loyal fans. They are a band that came together naturally, matured creatively, perform explosively and have poured all of that into Holler Back, their new album on BNA Records.

“Anyone who has ever seen us live is going to hear the first 15 seconds of “Holler Back” and say ‘There’s The Lost Trailers. Those are the guys I saw open for Chesney or open for Sugarland’,” says Stokes, the band’s songwriter.

“Music is important and has a lasting quality,” adds lead vocalist Ryder, aka The Voice. “But music should be fun too, there needs to be a balance.” “Holler Back” is a fun song that “captures the element of our live show, which is really important to us as well.”

North Carolina Symphony

Holiday Pops Concert
www.ncsymphony.org
Founded in 1932, the North Carolina Symphony is a vital and honored component of North Carolina’s cultural life. Its 175 performances annually are greeted with enthusiasm throughout the state in communities large and small, in concert halls, auditoriums, gymnasiums, and outdoor settings. Based in spectacular Meymandi Concert Hall at the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts in Raleigh, the state’s capital city, and an outdoor summer venue at Regency Park in nearby Cary, NC, the orchestra has also appeared at Carnegie Hall in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington, and Orchestra Hall in Chicago.

Under the gifted artistic leadership of Music Director Grant Llewellyn, the orchestra has grown in stature and sophistication. His heralded arrival in 2004 brought audiences to their feet and has invigorated musicians to achieve ever greater levels of passion and eloquence in their playing.

The beloved Holiday Pops concert features music from the holiday season and the popular “holiday sing-along.”

PLEASE NOTE: THE HOLIDAY POPS CONCERT IS GENERAL ADMISSION – NO RESERVED SEATING AVAILABLE

Doc Watson
www.folkloreproductions.com
North Carolina-born guitarist and singer Doc Watson is a legendary performer who blends his traditional Appalachian musical roots with bluegrass, country, gospel, and blues to create a unique style and an expansive repertoire. Watson received the National Medal of Arts in September, 1997, in a ceremony at the White House hosted by President Bill Clinton. In his storied career, Watson has also received a National Heritage Fellowship and eight Grammy Awards (including the Academy’s Lifetime Achievement Award).

Doc Watson is a powerful singer and a tremendously influential guitarist, who virtually invented the art of playing mountain fiddle tunes on the flattop guitar. A discography of over fifty recordings includes, most recently, collaborations with his grandson Richard Watson (a fantastic guitarist in his own right) and with multi-instrumentalist David Holt (host of the popular Folkways program on PBS). Watson last performed on the Keihin Auditorium stage in March of 2005. Five years later, Edgecombe Community College is pleased to bring this national treasure back to Tarboro.
