Dear Part-Time Curriculum Faculty Member:
Welcome to Edgecombe Community College. The College strives to create and maintain a good public image through a program of quality instruction. As an instructor and employee of Edgecombe Community College, you represent the College to the students and to the community at large. Your actions, words, and competence are a reflection on not only yourself but Edgecombe Community College as well.
We have developed this manual for the information and guidance of those individuals employed as part-time faculty members. The manual covers a broad range of topics that will assist you to be an effective ECC faculty member.
This manual is to be used in conjunction with the school catalog. If you do not have a copy of the catalog, contact the Evening Coordinator. A thorough understanding of this manual and the catalog will make your job much easier.
Part-time faculty members perform a vital service to the College and the community by sharing their academic training and work experience with students in the classroom. The College’s success and reputation depend on you. We urge you to give us your suggestions for improving instruction, courses and operations. You are an important part of the college team.
